Due to current copyright laws, it would be illegal to use extended cuts from copyrighted soundtrack/video content by different artists/labels/companies for use in the creation of new material, without their permission first.
It is therefore important that I ask permission from the record label behind James Blake's Retrograde song before using it in my video. This record label would be 'Polydor Records' - a 'self distributer' that was founded in 1924 and currently has artists such as Lana Del Ray and Azealia Banks jointly signed up between Polydor Records and Interscope records.
I will soon get to writing to Polydor Records for their permission to use James Blake's single 'Retrograde' for educational purposes, both to comply with copyright law and also with OCR rules.
